the original games (Red and Blue) were different in Japan (Red and Green). So when they remade the games they called them FireRed and LeafGreen, after the original Japanese games.
HeartGold and SoulSilver are named so because in Gold Ho-oh appears first and is said to have brought life back to 3 deceased Pokemon. Yes...the Pokèmon are like the ones in Yellow. Not only does your Lead Pokèmon follow you, but you can view the happiness level by talking to it.
I'm especially for the PokèWalker...i'm not supposed to talk about it...unless somebody else knows what it is O.o
